My Story
Growing up in a single parent home my mother had to work a lot to provide for us with her
working a lot my Aunt and other family members would keep me. My Aunt Dot was the baker of
the family and anytime I was over her house I would be right in the kitchen with her learning and
helping as I got older I started helping my Grandmother and Aunt Sara Mae prepare
Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner before you knew it cooking became a passion. I knew how
to bake due to my Aunt Dot. I started really baking more once she passed January 20th of 2012
to cope with her death. Baking made me feel closer to her because as a child my best
memories were when I was at her house in the kitchen with her. Baking became my safe place,
my escape and just the happiest place for me. I started off just making cupcakes and cakes for
family and friends and before I knew it all the guests at our events started requesting me to do
events for them. The more popular I got I realized I needed a name and brand. A Taste of B
name was created after a phone conversation with my boyfriend at the time. I explained to him
my vision and what I wanted in my business and he sent me some names and Ideas and he
gave me the perfect name but I had to add my own twist to it and from that you get A Taste of B
(ME) through baking. I bake and cook with love, pride and passion through my desserts and
food. You get to experience me and what I love to do. It brings me so much joy to see the
smiles and excitement my desserts bring to everyone and I appreciate all the support. I know
my Aunt is watching over me and is so proud of the success I have to date.
Meet Our Bakers
I am Badginic (Bello) Ramsey, an entrepreneur and baker/chef. I’ve been baking and cooking
since I was 9 years old. I was raised mostly by my grandmother so I grew up around my aunts
and grandmother always in the kitchen feeding the family. I took everything they taught me and
added my own special touch and from there everyone fell in love and I began to grow and grow.
Nobody in my family was decorators yet that was something I was really into so while in college
at Coastal Carolina I took four Wilton cake decorating courses at the local AC Moore Craft store.
With the basics down packed I started making more cakes and pushing myself more and more
overtime I started trying different things and taking virtual classes to expand my business.
After the passing of my last close Aunt to me I end up moving back home to take care of my
grandmother who wasn't dealing with the death of my Aunt Sara very well. Upon moving home, i ended up being the cake decorator at the Walmart in Darlington SC for two years before I
became the manager in the deli and bakery. I was a manager and at home baker for 5 plus
years before I decided to step down and focus on my business more. I started having weekend
food sales and pop up bake sales once I took a step back from management. My business grew
more and more until I had to expand and create a website. I'm highly requested and
recommended and I never imagined in a million years a small-time girl from SC with a bachelor
degree in business management would end up an entrepreneur and baker/chef. I’m so grateful
to be able to do what I love.
